a stocking for Bo….

I made a pair of stockings for my youngest daughter and (soon to be) son-in-law last year. They adopted the sweetest dog named Bo last year and I got to meet him on my trip to Alaska. As the holidays rolled around and my mama heart started missing the Alaska contingency more than usual, I decided my grand-puppy Bo needed a stocking….

I pulled out my box of holiday fabric and pieced together a patchwork star with fabric leftover from his favorite human’s stockings. I quilted the star part to match the other two stockings and went with some simple lines for the rest of it. I really loved the way decorative stitch looks at the top of this one. I ordered him a simple name tag and had it shipped directly to my daughter, Etsy has several sellers who make stamped leather name tags and I love those for stockings, classic and sweet.

My Aunt says wrapping yourself in a handmade quilt is like wrapping yourself in a hug from someone who loves you, I know this little stocking felt just like that when it arrived to my girl.
