My oldest daughter and son-in-law became an Aunt and Uncle last summer and I stitched up this sweet little quilt for baby “B”.

I sewed the binding on differently – no hand stitching – and while I loved how fast it went, my inner perfectionist is having a hard time with the slightly imperfect stitching on the back of the quilt. The line/seam on the back isn’t quite perfect and sometimes catches the binding (instead of staying right next to it). Is this just inevitable with this type of binding? I thought about adjusting the width of the binding slightly, but I also like how the seam hides in the binding along the back (photo #4), so there isn’t much wiggle room for adjustments. I’m a r-e-a-l-l-y slow hand-stitcher, but gosh there is nothing quite like that invisible seam on hand a stitched binding to frame your quilt. Something to think about as I’ve been considering selling small quilts again.

Now that this sweet quilt is finished I should really get back to this WIP.
